Swinton Greenway

One of Salford’s key active travel routes, Swinton Greenway connects the residents of Monton and Swinton via an off-road 7km path.

A near £6m upgrade to the route in 2022 has made it wider, greener and easier to use with the path lit all day round with motion-detected sensor lighting and over 30 entrances open it up and connect it to a number of the communities and schools in Monton and Swinton.

Running through woodlands and nearby green fields, the route is regularly used by cyclists, commuters, dog walkers, wheelchair users with the route providing access to several green spaces in both neighbourhoods.
